Located approximately 40 minutes southwest from Dayton and 30 minutes northwest from Cincinnati, the city of Hamilton, Ohio has the best entertainment, sports, shopping, and adventure opportunities less than an hour away. Hamilton is home to around 65,000 citizens and it's steadily growing. Located in Butler County, Hamilton is served by the Hamilton City School District. It's a school district teemed in excellence with it being named the #1 urban school district in the state and the superintendent of the district being named the Ohio Superintendent of the year. Hamilton is also home to Miami University Hamilton and is a short drive from schools in Dayton (UD, Wright State) and Cincinnati (UC).

Originally, Hamilton was known as Fairfield, when it was originally set up in 1794. However, it wasn't long before it started going by the name Fort Hamilton and finally just Hamilton after Alexander Hamilton. The city was incorporated in 1810 and officially became a city in 1857. The rich history of the area is not only present back to the Native American tribes that once lived off the land, but also newer generations such as the thriving mills (paper), iron works, and manufacturing industries that were setup during the mid-19th century in Hamilton. One interesting fact about this part of Ohio is that many of Chicago's most famous gangsters had their second homes in Hamilton, and the city was even dubbed "Little Chicago" as a result.

Hamilton has not gone on without its hardships though. The city was a casualty of the Great Dayton Flood in 1913. The city also went through the embarrassment of changing its name to Hamilton! However, the government offices dealing with geographic locations dismissed the exclamation point in the name, with Hamilton quietly rescinding something the city had done in attempt to bring more notice to its location and citizens. For now, the city focuses on more pressing issues such as recreation, education and keeping family values a high priority for all of the citizens that live within its limits.
