Lithia Springs is located in Douglas County, Georgia. This small town was once incorporated in 1833, but later decided to become unincorporated in 1933. The city attempted incorporation again in 1994, but unincorporated for a second time back in 2001. Lithia Springs received its name based on the Lithia water springs in the area.
Lithia Springs is home to Sweetwater Creek Conservation State Park. Part of the park features the George Sparks Reservoir. Residents often visit the park to enjoy hiking, picnicking, playing on the playground, and learning about the historic aspects of the park including the ruins of Manchester Mill. Next door to Sweetwater Creek are the girl's baseball field and Woodrow Wilson Park. This area is surrounded by apartments and residential properties, allowing the park to be a hot spot for both residents and area children.
