Located in Lorain County is the city of North Ridgeville. The city was a part of Ridgeville Township, which was originally established by former residents of Waterbury, Connecticut. They came to the area in 1810. North Ridgeville was rightfully named in 1858. The town hall, a historical building that was revitalized for the U.S. bicentennial, has been a place of important history for the city and the maintenance of this building shows a history that dates back 200 years.
A suburb of Cleveland, North Ridgeville has a population of close to 25,000 citizens at the present time. It is one of the fastest growing suburbs of the greater Cleveland area. North Ridgeville is located much closer to Cleveland than the county seat of Lorain. The city is able to more easily access the resources of Cleveland including fine dining at a host of international style restaurants, shopping opportunities, amusements, and recreation.
Speaking of recreation, North Ridgeville is located just south of Lake Erie.
