Located almost smack dab in between Dayton, Ohio and Cincinnati is the village of Monroe. The city limits for Monroe expand through Butler and Warren Counties. The city population has expanded slowly with this small town, which is just shy of 10,000 residents. Monroe was named after President Monroe. The village was first marked down in record books in 1817. Like most of Ohio, the town citizens mainly worked in the manufacturing industry and many of them still do today.

Small town appeal and charm is what keeps residents coming to the city. Tourism is a surprisingly popular industry in this small village and it all thanks to the faith of its citizens. People from around the world come to see the King of Kings' statue, which is located right off of I-75, and has been available for viewing since 2004.The statue stands at 62 feet and has Jesus' hands outstretched upwards, with the statue located so it looks like it is coming out of the water. The statue is located on the waters behind the Solid Rock Church's amphitheater.

Children of Monroe are served by the Monroe Local and Lakota School Districts. Education is high priority and higher education opportunities are available at nearby Miami University in Oxford, Wright State in Dayton, the University of Dayton, and the University of Cincinnati.
