"Finding your web site has changed our lives. We were so inspired by this cute little neighborhood that we decided to buy our first home. I recommended your web site to my sister in Dallas, TX who is looking to buy. Hopefully, she will find it just as helpful." -Mickey, Chicago, IL

In 1956, the great Johnny Cash wrote a song about Folsom Prison that would send the city into stardom for a lifetime. What many people do not know is that Folsom had a rich and diverse history long before this memorable song was created. The history of Folsom got its start with the California Gold Rush. In fact, the railroad was brought in because there was so much gold in the area. The city was given the care it needed to flourish by Captain Joseph Folsom, who named the town Granite City, but was almost immediately changed to Folsom after the Captain died. The city would go on to be incorporated in 1946.
Folsom is home to just under 70,000 residents. The quality of living is higher than many cities of this size and residents take pleasure in all of the recreational opportunities in the area. The city is home to a public zoo, a community center, and 37 parks. In Folsom, you will also find three public swimming pools, nearly 20 basketball and tennis courts, 20 baseball fields, and numerous sporting fields for all of the area residents to enjoy.
