"Finding your web site has changed our lives. We were so inspired by this cute little neighborhood that we decided to buy our first home. I recommended your web site to my sister in Dallas, TX who is looking to buy. Hopefully, she will find it just as helpful." -Mickey, Chicago, IL

A little over a half hour north of the capital city of Columbus, right off US 23, is the city of Delaware, Ohio. Forbes just recently listed Delaware in its February 2008 list of the Top Ten "Best Places to Get Ahead". With a thriving economy and high levels of employment, that sounds about accurate for a city that is known for its small town charm and values.
Harness racing enthusiasts know Delaware as the home of the Little Brown Jug, one of the greatest races a three year old standard bred horse can ever dream of winning. The track for the race is located at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, with the Delaware County Fair happening every year in the heart of the city. That's not the only recreational opportunity. Residents enjoy visits to Delaware State Park and Alum Creek Park, where they can fish to their hearts content. Boating and water sports are also an option. Of course, there is always the excitement of Columbus, just a few minutes south with sports, culture, dining and shopping opportunities only 20 miles away!
Delaware was originally home to the Delaware Native American tribe. Since that time, the town has grown significantly. Despite that fact, many of the original buildings from the 19th century have been preserved. The small town appeal and charm has still been maintained while still allowing plenty of room for residential and economic growth within the city. New home construction has gone up in the city in large numbers, especially in the past seven years.
It's the family values, though, that make Delaware so appealing. The city has over 70 places of worship for varying faiths. Education is important with Ohio Wesleyan University located nearby and an excellent, smaller school system that caters to the needs of individual children, as opposed to the larger metropolitan school systems. Additionally, the unemployment rate in Delaware is below 3%, with plenty of opportunities available in industries that range from government to the education field.
