Bartlett, Illinois was formed as a forty acre site that was owned by Luther Bartlett in 1844. The town was originally used as nothing more than a wood lot, to store wood for building and fires. By 1891, the town of Bartlett had a train running through it and had been incorporated. The town that once was a mere 40 acres has grown to accommodate nearly 20 square miles. Today, Bartlett is part of Cook, DuPage, and Kane Counties.
